Georgia Mae Cox, 83, of Barbourville, formally of Pineville passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Knox County Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a faithful prayer warrior who loved her lord, Jesus Christ. She is now reunited with her husband and is now in the presence of her savior, whom she loved first and foremost. She was humble and had a strong spirit she was a devoted homemaker and mother to her children and loved them unconditionally. She was born on November 8, 1929, daughter of the late Matt Shelton and Christine Robinson Taylor.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Cox; brother, Donnie Taylor; sisters, Deloris Taylor and Helen Miracle; great-grandchild, Kristina Laws; step-father, Hillary Taylor.
Survivors include her children, David (Kristy) Cox of Dayton, OH, Brenda Cox Laws of Barbourville, KY and Carol Cox (Jerry) Taylor of London, KY; stepson, Edward Wayne Cox; grandchildren, Kevin (Kandis) Taylor, Travis (Shaunna) Taylor, Tara (Brandon) Swanner, Cheryl Roberts, Tracy Laws, Dallas Laws fiancé Beth Messer, Kimberly (Kevin) Hughes, Kelli Cox fiancé Shawn, Shelbi Cox, Koti Cox and boyfriend Marcus, Elle Merker and Mikel Merker; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Eva Sheryl) Taylor and Ira (Bonnie) Taylor.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday January 23, 2013 at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Withrow and Rev. Don Smith. Burial will be in Cox Cemetery, Grey KY. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. January 23, 2013 at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, which is honored to be serving Cox Family.
