Three Bell County natives made the trip to Atlanta, Ga. on Saturday to audition for the hit television show, The Voice.

Brothers Jimmy and Chris Rose, along with their friend Joseph Letendre, made the five-hour trip in hopes of furthering their musical careers.

In order to audition for The Voice, the Roses and Letendre registered an artist account online at the show’s official website. The boys were all approved and received audition passes.

When the boys arrived in Georgia, they joined hundreds of people who were all there for the same reason.

The audition consisted of the crowd being split into groups of 10 and then they were taken into a room where they auditioned in front of a single judge. Those who made it onto the show were told they would receive a phone call before 9 p.m.

Unfortunately, no call was received by the Bell County trio. Although they admittedly were disappointed about not receiving a call, they are not giving up on their dreams just yet.

The boys are heading to New York on Thursday to audition for America’s Got Talent on Feb. 2.

Jimmy Rose has high hopes for this audition because unlike The Voice audition, he can play his guitar and sing his original songs.

“It kind of sets you aside in a different category that way, verses the way The Voice audition went,” he said.

Last year, Jimmy Rose won the local level of the Texaco Country Showdown in Corbin. He advanced to the state level of the competition and placed fifth.

Currently, his original song, “Coal Keeps the Lights On” is not only being played on 106.3, but is also one of the most requested songs.
