A longtime Pineville business caught fire early Saturday morning, causing severe damage to the building.

The Pineville Fire Department was notified at 12:38 a.m. Saturday that Burger Hut, located at 105 E. Park Avenue, was on fire.

The fire department arrived in approximately two minutes, according to Debra Jones, who works at the Burger Hut.

The fire was under control in a matter of minutes, saving surrounding businesses from harm.

“Without this fire department here in Pineville, this would have been a total disaster,” said Jones.

Samples have been taken by investigators.

Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator Josh Bunch is continuing his probe into the fire.

“It’s a tragedy for the community regardless the circumstance,” said Bunch.

Anyone with knowledge involving the fire can contact KSP Post 10 at 606-573-3131 or the Pineville City Fire Department at 606-337-7000.
