A Pineville man is behind bars after being accused of sexual abuse. Bradley Asher, 65, was arrested on Thursday and charged with first-degree indecent exposure and first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under 12 years of age.

According to the arrest citation, Asher exposed himself to a 7-year-old child in February and also made sexual contact with the child in March.

Asher is being held at the Bell County Detention Center on a $1 million bond. Bell County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Eric Saylor is the investigating officer in the case. He was assisted by Deputy BJ Brock.

In other police news, a Middlesboro man was arrested on Thursday on a theft charge. Johnny Hubbard, 37, was arrested by Middlesboro Police Department Officer Barry Cowan and charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500.

According to the arrest citation, the victim reported his wallet stolen at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The victim claims he laid his wallet on the counter at Cumberland Market while paying and accidentally walked off and left it. When the victim came back to pick the wallet up it was gone.

Sgt. Joe Holder took the original report, according to the citation. Cowan and Officer Chuck Bruce continued working the case once video became available from the store.

With the help of a store employee, officers identified and located the alleged suspect. The wallet was recovered, but the money was gone.

Hubbard was released from the Bell County Detention Center on Friday, according to the detention center website.
