A man indicted on a first-degree drug charge pleaded guilty in Bell Circuit Court on Friday. Mark Edward Stephens, 37, of Coldiron, pleaded guilty to the charge of first-degree trafficking a controlled substance. Stephens was indicted on the drug charge approximately eight months ago.

Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Tara Pope recommended two years and six months in the penitentiary on the charge. The final sentencing for Stephens was set for April 15.

A couple of individuals received final sentencing on Friday as well.

Annie Neal, of Pineville, was sentenced to five years in the penitentiary on the charge of second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. She will actually serve 22 days in the Bell County Jail.

For the remainder of her sentence, Neal will be placed on supervised probation for five years.

Tony Brock, 33, of Pineville, was sentenced on three different charges. He was sentenced to five years on two counts of third-degree assault. He will actually serve 45 days in the Bell County Jail for the assault charges and a resisting arrest charge.

For the remainder of his sentence for the assault charges, Brock will be placed on supervised probation for five years.

In other court news, three individuals who were recently indicted was arraigned on Friday. William Fuson, 32, of Pineville, David Hernandez, 51, of New Britain, Conn., and Casey Dalton, 37, of Middlesboro, each pleaded not guilty in circuit court.

Hernandez is set for a pretrial conference on Monday. Dalton was set for a pretrial conference on April 15.
