A Middlesboro man is behind bars after being charged with six counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. Gregory Adam Davis, 19, was arrested by Middlesboro Police Officer Floyd Patterson and charged for an incident that occurred late Sunday afternoon.

According to the arrest citation, Davis turned off his lights while traveling east on Noetown Road and almost hit a car head on at Russell Lane while crossing the bridge. The citation also states Davis almost hit MPD officers Barry Cowan and Brad Cawood while they were at the intersection of New Wilson Lane and Noetown Road. They were blocking the roads to keep other motorists away from the pursuit.

Davis had two passengers in the vehicle with him at the time of the incident.

Davis was also charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police because he allegedly failed to stop for Patterson after he witnessed Davis disregard a traffic light, according to the arrest citation.

Other charges placed against Davis, according to the citation, include: failure to wear a seat belt, failure to give right of way to vehicle passing the opposite direction, improper passing, disregarding a traffic control device, no operators/moped license, no insurance, careless driving and failure of owner to maintain security.

As of Monday afternoon, Davis remained in custody at the Bell County Detention Center.

Seriously ShellBell?! Would you be as defensive if he had killed somebody with his carelessness & stupidity? Sweet people sometimes do stupid things. And when they do, they have to pay the consequences. All we can do is pray that he has learned something from this & thank God that he did not kill someone! By the way, the article says there were TWO passengers in the car with him, not 3.

OK. THAT is bullshit! He did NOT have 3 passengers in the car with him! They probably just put that in their to make it sound worse on him! And don't anyone DARE say a bad word about him! He may have done wrong things than he should have done, but everyone makes mistakes. Some are WAY worse than others, but EVERYONE makes them, NOBODY is perfect. If you knew him, you would know that he is a very sweet person. He is not this hardened criminal they try to make him out to be. And I think the judge should give him a chance to make himself better.

I was the Truck he almost hit head on. Im sorry he choose to break the law, and Im sorry you feel as if he should get another chance. But what if he had hit me and the 3 kids that was in my truck, and anyone of us had died. He made a bad decision, but people shouldnt suffer for such ignorant mistakes. I thank God he turned right before he he clipped my front end, and why did he run from the police anyway, A good person doesnt run down a 2 lane road with no lights on in the middle of both lanes heading towards another vehicle and risking peoples lives at 100mph. But clearly based on what he did that night, I really dont think he has much respect for other people, and their well being. Im glad they caught him, and whatever punishment he gets, he really deserves, so maybe next time when he sees police lights in his rear view, he will stop, and get the ticket, rather than endangering other peoples lives. But like a child if you do something wrong, you will suffer consequences. And breaking laws, and risking INNOCENT lives has severe consequences.
