Mrs. Rhoda Wombles Lawson, age 96, of Pilot Mountain, died Friday, March 15,201.3 at her home. She was born August 13, 1916 in Oaks, KY to the late Benjamin & Nancy Catherine Hoskins Wombles. Mrs. Lawson was a retired housekeeper at Spring Grove Hospital in Maryland.


She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Hose of Pilot Mountain; grandchildren, Veronica “Vicki” & husband Kelly Davis of Duff, TN, Sandra Key of King, Sharon & husband Scott Whitaker of Winston - Salem, Warren Hose Jr., and Michael Hose both of Pilot Mountain and Timothy Hose of Brunswick, GA; great- grandchildren, Chelsea Bryant, Sara Key, Carolyn Key, Dakota Hose, Jordan Davis, Gaven Hose, Ogden Hose and Kosmo Hose and great-great-grandchildren, Landon Marlow and Addison Cook.


In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Lawson; son-in-law, Warren Neale Hose Sr.; great grandsons, Jantzen Bryant and Kelly Vaitor Davis; brothers, Henry & Robert Wombles and half-brother, Willie Mae Eldridge.


The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at Howell- Nelson Funeral Service of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from l0am – 12pm at Creech Funeral Home in Middlesboro, KY with a graveside service to follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Middlesboro, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 129 Veterans Drive, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. Online condolences may be made at www.howellfuneralservices.corn.
