Nonprofit organizations looking for a way to boost their online fundraising efforts and acquire new donors to support their mission will have that opportunity from midnight to 11:59 p.m. on April 24.
The Kentucky Nonprofit Network Inc. is coordinating this event. Through statewide media partners and sponsors, Kentucky Gives Day will connect nonprofits and Kentuckians for a day of action — showcasing the work of charities and the generosity of Kentuckians.
Any individual may donate. Donations through Kentucky Gives Day to nonprofit organizations are tax deducible. A tax receipt is emailed immediately by the Razoo Foundation upon successful processing of your donation. Contributions may be made by credit and debit cards only. The minimum donation is $10.
For non-profit organizations wishing to participate in Kentucky Gives Day you will need to visit www.razoo.com/nonprofits and register by April 3.
Harlan Chamber of Commerce President Aimee Blanton said this event will be a “useful tool for Harlan County nonprofit organizations.”
She said on this day people across Kentucky may go online and search for Harlan County charities in order to make a donation.
Blanton said the amount of money raised during last year’s event was “astounding.”
“Thousands of Kentuckians will be online, making charitable gifts on April 24 and your nonprofit must confirm participation to be eligible to receive gifts through the Kentucky Gives Day online event,” said Blanton. “You need to visit kygives.org as soon as possible to be sure your organization will be one of the charities included in the Kentucky Gives Day website — it’s completely free. Harlan Chamber of Commerce is excited about this fundraising tool with our community’s nonprofits and to promote the event to individuals and businesses in our community. Let’s see how much money we can raise.”
