Eulis Carl Adkins, age 79, Middlesboro, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013. He was born October 16, 1933 in Coburn, VA, to the late Carl and Nola Adkins. He was a retired business owner of City Texaco, and Adkins and Son Garage for several years. He served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Alma Adkins; brothers: Herman Adkins, Lonnie Adkins, Carl Jr. Adkins; sisters: Marie Griffith, Wilma Kleusman; daughter-in-law, Kelli Adkins; and nephews: Eulis Ray Adkins and Shannon Rains.
Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 58 years, Norma Adkins; sons: Larry “Apple” Adkins and wife Joan, Mike and Sandy Adkins, Todd Adkins and Ruby McCoy, Jerry Adkins and Leann Siler, Billy Kleusman and Linda; daughters: Terri York, Linda Rains (Tony Hutson), all of Middlesboro; nephews: Ernie Griffith, Dallas Griffith; niece, Becky Griffith, and special pet, his dog Chip. He was blessed with 20 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 8 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Phelps of Northside Baptist Church officiating. His grandsons will be pallbearers. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Green Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
