Wanda Anderson Gordon, 84, of Smith, formerly of Middlesboro, KY, passed Saturday March 23, 2013 at the Harlan ARH. Wanda was born December 8 1928 in Threepoint, KY to the late Jack and Delphia Hatmaker Anderson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church in Middlesboro, KY.
While living in Harlan she had attended the Grays Knob Bible Church. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Gordon; daughter, Patricia Gordon; a sister, Jackie Burkhart.
She is survived by her brother, Gerald (Ruth) Anderson of Jasper, Alabama. She is survived locally by her brother-in-law, Jim Burkhart of Smith; nieces and nephews, Rev. Spencer (Beulah) Burkhart of Smith, Susie Taylor of Smith, Debra (Larry) Hubbs of Bobs Creek, Denise (Michael) Epperson of Murray, KY and Rick (Marie) Burkhart of Smith; she leaves other nieces, nephews, several great nieces, nephews to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be Tuesday March 26, 2013 from 5:30 – 7 :00 p.m. at the Grays Knob Bible Church. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Grays Knob Bible Church with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating.
Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday March 27, 2013 at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, KY. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to Hospice of The Bluegrass, Mountain Heritage, P.O. Box 189, Harlan, KY 40831 in memory of Mrs. Gordon.
