Harold Lon Milwee, age 78, died Tuesday morning, (March 19, 2013), at the Lee Regional Hospital in Pennington Gap, Virginia, after a long illness. Harold was born on April 29, 1934, in Harlan, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lon Harrison Milwee and Cretia (Wilder) Milwee Ball; two sisters, Mary Emily (infant) and Lillian Ball; one brother, Ray Milwee; and step-father, Charlie Ball; two daughters, Sharon Lucretia Bradley and Beverly Ann Hart.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne Margaret Milwee; three children: Fred (Kitty) Milwee of Loftman, Florida; Bunny Carter, Ewing, Virginia; Randy White (Mary) Milwee, Rose, Hill, Virginia; one brother, Donald Clay (Debbie) Milwee, Groveland, Florida; three sisters, Rosa Collins and Shirley Ann Howard, both of Ewing, Virginia; Margaret(Peggy) Givens, Lincoln, Alabama; sons-in-laws: Tom Bradley, Riceville, Tennessee; Harry Hart, Holton, Massachusetts; Gene Carter, Hastings, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews .
Harold grew up in Rose Hill, but at age 16, he journeyed to Ohio where he met Margaret, the love of his life. They were married August 16, 1954.
He lived in Painsville, Ohio for 18 years and later moved to Kissimmee, Florida where he worked for 38 years as a drywall finisher. In 2006, he moved back to Rose Hill, Virginia.
He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Innersession City, Florida but attended Speaks Chapel Church upon his return to Rose Hill.
Harold will be laid to rest at the Speaks Rosenbaum Cemetery in Rose Hill, Virginia. A memorial service will be held at Speaks Chapel Church in Rose Hill, Virginia, on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.
