Robert Paul Green, 60, of Pineville, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Miracle, KY on March 27, 1953, a son of the late Martin and Alice Alford Green. He had been a mechanic and electrician in the coal mines. He was a kind and gentle husband and father who lived for his family, especially his grandsons. He loved hunting and fishing and being outdoors.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John L. and Charles R. Green and grandparents, Lewis G. and Rhoda Green and John and Mary Alford.


Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Gretchen Allen Green; sons, Jason Paul Green and Chad Thomas Green and wife, Tracey; grandsons, Eithen Scott Green and Hayden Nathaniel Green; brother and sisters and their spouses, Billy E. and Cassie Green; Mary and Andy Williams and Jewell and Nick Woodard; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Gibson. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery at Brownies Creek with nephews and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lowell Partin, Ray Wayne Johnson, Roger Boatright and Clyde Patterson.


The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Green Family. Light a virtual candle and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
