Roberta Lee Lucas, 57, of Middlesboro, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 12, 2013, at her residence. Born June 26, 1955, in Ratton, Oklahoma, she worked as a switchboard operator for many years for the Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pineville. She a member of the Loyall First Baptist Church, over the past 12 years Roberta has mothered over 64 foster children.
She preceded in death by her parents, Morris Duncan and Elsie McClendon Duncan.
Roberta is survived by her husband, Dr. Roy E. Lucas, Jr., Middlesboro; two children, Jonathon Lucas and wife Elizabeth, Johnson City, TN; and Jerebeth Saylor and husband John, Harlan; one granddaughter, Addison Saylor and one on the way in June.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Loyall First Baptist Church and from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at the Clear Creek Baptist Bible College.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pineville with Reverend Shannon Benefiel, Dr. Donnie Fox and Dr. Malcolm Hester officiating.
Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Baptist Bible Cemetery, Pineville, KY.
Deacons of the Loyall First Baptist Church and Professors and Staff of the Clear Creek Baptist Bible College will serve as pallbearers.
