Sheila Gibbs Miracle, 54, Harrogate, TN went to be home with her savior and Lord Jesus Christ the afternoon of Wednesday, June 5, 2013. She was at home surrounded by her family. Sheila was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. She was an active member of Pump Springs Baptist Church and the Truthseekers’ Sunday school class, both of which she had been a member of for over 20 years. She positively impacted the lives of numerous students as a professor at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College where she taught 20 years. As all who knew her are aware, she had a very special way of letting Jesus’ love and light shine through her.


Sheila is preceded in death by her father, John Leslie Gibbs of Harrogate, and her father-in-law, Luther Miracle of Pineville, KY. She is survived by her loving husband, Eddy Miracle; son, Jeremy Brooks; daughter, Lauren Brooks; son-to-be, Casey Wilson of North Carolina; daughter-to-be, Alicia Siffring of Kingsport, TN; mother, Joanne Gibbs of Harrogate and “Papa” James Miracle; mother-in-law, Elsie Miracle of Pineville, KY; brothers and sisters: Cecil (Betty Jo) Gibbs, AC (Betty Jane) Gibbs, Jim Gibbs, Faye Gibbs, Johnny (Vicki) Gibbs, Bette (Bob) Collins of Knoxville, and John Christopher Gibbs of Knoxville, and special uncles: Randall (Vickie) Cowan and Bruce Cowan as well as a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.


Visitation will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 at Pump Springs Baptist Church from 3 p.m.-7 p.m., and the funeral will be immediately afterward at 7 p.m. The graveside service will be at the Harrogate Cemetery, Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. Rev David Bolton and Rev. Astor Simpson will be presiding. Pallbearers will be Randall Cowan, Bruce Cowan Nicholas Cowan, Dustin Cowan, Chad Cowan, David Gibbs, and Jeff Cheek. Honorary pallbearers will be members will be members of Pump Springs’ Truthseekers’ Sunday school class and faculty and staff of the Middlesboro campus of Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. The family requests donations be made to Pump Springs Baptist Church (P O Box 2, Harrogate, TN 37752) for the new building fund in lieu of flowers or gifts. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”-Proverbs 3:5-6 “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.’”-Proverbs 31:28-29
