Ruth Collett Jones, 89, of Middlesboro, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Middlesboro ARH. She was born December 4, 1923 in Jenson, KY, the daughter of the late Robert and Maude Burnett Collett.


She was a member of the East Pineville Baptist Church and was saved and baptized at an early age. She loved the Lord dearly and she taught her children and grandchildren to live for the Lord. Her favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 22:1 “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold”. Her passions were gardening, cooking and farming.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Clifford Jones, four children: Faye King, Timothy Jones, Judy Robinson and Carolyn Jones, one grandson: Kenny Wayne Jones, brothers: Bill Collett and Jack Elliott and one sister: Goldie Fletcher, a special friend: Isabell Money and a daughter in law: Carol Jones and a son in law: John Robinson. She is survived by the following members of her family:


One Daughter: Jennifer Givens of Middlesboro, KY


One son: Larry (Yvonne) Jones of Flat Rock, MI


Grandchildren: Tammy King, Teresa (Charles) Buis, Kim (Boomer) Owens, Wendy (Mark) Shepherd, John Robert (Sarah) Robinson, Polly Robinson, Casey (Tracy) Jones, Tony (Michelle) Jones, Becky Jones, Cheri (Robert) Caldwell, Tonya (Jimmy) Mink and Ashley Jones.


Great grandchildren: Krystal Victory, Christopher Hersey, Amanda and Adam Smith, Josh and Jeremy Walters, Brooke and Emily White, Emma Robinson, Sydney Jones Elkins, Brad, Jake, Tyrah, Autumn, Gunnar, Kenny Wayne and Nathan Jones, Grace and Wyatt Mink.

Brother: Paul Elliott of Pineville, KY


And a host of nieces, nephews and many other family members to mourn her passing.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shelby Money and Rev. John Ledger presiding. Music will be provided by David Barnard and the East Pineville Church Choir. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John Robert Robinson, Robert Caldwell, David Collett, Christopher Hersey, Adam Smith, Tony Jones, Casey Jones, Chris Winters, Jimmy Mink and Boomer Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the East Pineville Baptist Church.


The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, at the Creech Funeral Home. Online condolences and guestbook are available at www.creechfh.com
