HARLAN — The Middlesboro Lady Jackets couldn’t hold a five-point lead late in the fourth quarter as Harlan used an 11-0 run in the final three minutes to pull out a 52-48 win Monday night.

The Lady Jackets led by as many as nine early in the fourth and were up 46-41 under the three-minute mark before baskets by Sarah Sruggs, Anne Corey Johnson and Ashley Mullins started the decisive run.

The Lady Jackets went scoreless until Malory Shoffner’s basket just before the buzzer set the final at four points.

Carissa Overbay scored 20 points to lead the Lady Jackets while Shoffner finished with nine.

Harlan was led by Mullins with 13 while Johnson and Scruggs both has 12 and Cheyene Hamblin 10.

Middlesboro (8-10, 3-3 district) hosts Whitley County tonight at 6 p.m. while Harlan (15-9, 2-3) plays at Bell County at 7:30 p.m.
