LOUISVILLE — Several athletes from Bell County High School competed at the State AA Track Meet on Thursday.

Leading the Bell contingent were sophomore James Brown and senior Hannah Hobbs, who both qualified for multiple events.

Hobbs provided the best finish of all the Bell athletes, placing 11th in the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 5.5 inches.

She also placed 20th in the triple jump with a distance of 29 feet, 10.25 inches.

Brown placed 16th in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:36.06 and 19th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:49.27.

He was also part of the 4x800 meter relay team, along with freshmen Jon Howerton, Nathan Tanner and Ryan Collett. They were one of 25 teams to qualify for the state meet, but were disqualified for interference.

8th-grader Kelly Brown placed 18th in the girls’ 3200 meter run with a time of 13:27.34.

Bobcat senior Michael Hatfield finished in a tie for 16th place in the boys’ high jump. He cleared 5 feet, 8 inches.

Louisville Central took first place as a team with 100 points, followed by Paducah Tilghman with 68 and Covington Catholic with 44.5.
