Born October 31, 1920, at Flat Lick, she was the daughter of the late Ned and Maude Bowling.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Rev. W.B. Bingham II.
She was a faithful member of the Binghamtown Baptist Church, where she was a choir member, Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She also served as church receptionist after retiring from the Bell Court Court Clerks Office. She served faithfully as a pastor’s wife. She drove Dr. Bingham thousands of miles so he could serve in thousands of funerals, revivals, weddings, and hospital visits, during a 62 year ministry. She was a graduate of Knox Central High School and attended Union College and the Barbourville Baptist Institute.
Survivors include her children, Conley (Nancy) Bingham of Middlesboro, Bonita (Clyde) Creech of Middlesboro, Garry (Melissa) Bingham of Middlesboro, and William Boyd (Joan) Bingham III of Middlesboro; brother, Garrett Bowling of Flat Lick; grandchildren, Shannon (Steve) Barnard of Harrogate, John Conley (Melissa) Bingham of Harrogate, Jason (Mandy) Creech of Middlesboro, Benjamin Cooper Bingham of Middlesboro, Garry Nelson Bingham of Middlesboro, William Boyd (Amanda) Bingham IV of Middlesboro, and James Hunter Bingham of Middlesboro; step-granddaughter, April (Brian) Jeffers of Baileyton, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Bryson Barnard, Braden Barnard, John Chase Bingham, Alexander Creech, and Elizabeth Bingham; step-great-grandson, Jacob Jeffers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Binghamtown Baptist Church with Pastor William Boyd Bingham III, Pastor Garry Bingham, and Pastor William Boyd Bingham IV presiding. Music will be by Jimmy Jackson, Dickie Siler, and the Binghamtown Choir.
Entombment will be in the Green Hills Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the funeral until 3 p.m. Sunday at Binghamtown Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the Mae Bingham Memorial Scholarship Fund at Gateway Christian School.
