Bell County Fair and Exhibition Board members have been laboring tediously to make this year’s event joyous, exciting and appealing to all.
Daily happenings will include Mark Comley Magic, No Joe’s Clown Circus, Lowton’s Trout Farm, Game Hype, Eudora Farms Petting Zoo, Backyard Bounce, 4-H/FFA exhibits, Jules and Beck Combined Shows, and each event will be going on throughout the course of the week.
The fair will also offer the Broken Horn Rodeo (Aug. 24-25), Pedal Tractor Pulls for Kids (Aug. 25), Kentuckiana Truck Pullers (Aug. 26), Bear Hollow Woodcarvers (Aug. 26-27), Mudsling (Aug. 27), Southern Independent Wrestling (Aug. 27), Demolition Derby (Aug. 28) and S&N Fireworks (Aug. 28).
As for stage performances, The Singing Cookes and The Cooke Brothers will take the stage on Thursday, Aug. 26th, spreading the gospel through song.
On Saturday, bluegrass group Pine Mountain Grass will be the first to perform (at 1 p.m.), followed by local singer/songwriter Elliott Collett at 5 p.m.
Two young ladies, known as aly’an, from Lexington, Ky. will then hit the stage at 7 p.m. — opening up for country music artist Bucky Covington, this year’s headliner, who will take the stage around 9 p.m.
Covington appeared on the hit television show, “American Idol” and became the best-selling debut artist of the 2007 class — with the best first week sales and highest top 200 debut for any male country artist in 15 years.
Gate admission for the fair will be $5 per day.
