The Middlesboro Middle School has opened their season with seven straight wins, including a big tournament win at Whitley Central last weekend.

In the tournament the Lady Jackets beat Hyden 38-15, Russell County 36-31, Harlan 31-28 and the host Whitley Central 28-16 in the championship game.

Monday MMS swept a double-header at Pineville with the 5th & 6th graders topping the Lady Lions 34-5 and the 7th & 8th grade team winning 35-13 to improve their record to 3-2 on the season.

MMS hosts Barbourville in a double-header on Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m. at the West End gym.
