Born December 9, 1929 in Middlesboro, she was the daughter of the late John Drafus and Ola Mae Rucker. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Middlesboro.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters Cleo (Luther)Robbins, Opal (Arnold) Madon; brothers: Chester (Evelyn ) Rucker and Alva Rucker; brothers-in-law: Charles and Gene Miller; sister-in-law, Frances Wilson; and special sister-in-love, Cookie (Kermit) Money.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Jack Thomas Miller; son, Charles Conley Miller, Clearwater, Fla.; daughter, Elizabeth (Missy Miller) Bakies, son-in-law, Ron Bakies, Harrogate, Tenn.; brother, Bill (Billie Jean) Rucker, Cumberland Gap, Tenn.; sisters, Alice (Casper) Heath, Harrogate, Tenn., Charlene Rucker, Middlesboro; grandson, Charles Michael Bakies, Cumberland Gap, Tenn.; brothers-in-law, William E Wilson, Tample Terrace, Fla., and Bob (Joan) Miller, Homosassal Springs, Fla.; sister-in-law, Vie Miller, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; dear special friend, Joyce Anderson, Middlesboro; special nieces, Vicki Byrne, Teresa Howard, Joyce Rucker and Lisa Jefferson, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, September 4, at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Matt DuVall and Stephen Earle officiating. Music will be provided by John and Beth Parker.
Burial will be in Middlesboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billie Joe Davis, Steve Rowlett, Eddie Atkins, Jay Bakies, Chalk Stapleton, Freeman Thompson, and Everett “Mamaw” Gulley. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Forward Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church in Middlesboro.
The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Saturday, September 4, at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
