She was born March 10, 1939 in Middlesboro, the daughter of the late Frank and Hazel Allen Woody.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Roop; grandparents, William and Mae Woody, Joe and Bertha Allen; brother, Frank Woody, Jr.; sisters, Norma Bisceglia, Mary F. Schneider and a special nephew, Jay Fred Schneider.
She is survived by the following members of her family: two loving sons, Michael (Lucy) Woody of Middlesboro and Gregory Dean Woody of Cumberland Gap, Tenn.; sisters, Marion (Sam) Snuffer of Christiansburg, Va., Twinkle (Don) Treece of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Margaret (Jay W.) Broughton of Oak Hill, West Virginia, and Kathy (Mitchell) Mayes of Middlesboro; brothers, Jerry (Pat) Woody of Canton, Ohio, Michael (Nancy) Woody of Happy, Ky., and Joseph (Colleen) Woody of Middlesboro; one great-grandson, A.J. Adams; step-grandchildren, Tiffany Lewis and Savannah Lewis West; special nephew, Marion Schneider, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Boyd Bingham presiding.
Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, at the Yeary Cemetery in Middlesboro. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Thomas Epperson, Angela Brunsma, Kendra and Jenny.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the Creech Funeral Home.
