SPEEDWELL, Tenn. — Jerry Wayne Ausmus, age 67, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at his home in Speedwell.

He was born February 12, 1945, in Speedwell to Glen and Lela Welch Ausmus. He was a member of Powell Valley Masonic Lodge #488, and had retired from X-10 Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He enjoyed the outdoors, walking and hunting arrowheads. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Ausmus; and brother, Bobby Jack Ausmus.

Survivors, wife of 24 years, Robin Ausmus; daughters, Rhonda (Stacy) Madon, Amanda (David) Taylor and Cara Beth (Jason) Couch, all of Speedwell; mother, Lela Welch Ausmus of Speedwell; grandchildren, Cody (April) Medley of Harrogate, Tenn., Lexxus English of Knoxville, Tenn., Kennedy Madon, Pierce Taylor and Jaxon Taylor, all of Speedwell; brothers, Joe Ausmus (Diane Thompson) and Bill (Pat) Ausmus; special cousin, Wilma Sumpter; special friends, Ted Madon, Jennifer Seiber and Mike Price; as well as a host of many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Bannister and the Rev. Darrell Walker officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Powell Valley Lodge #488. Music will be by David Painter.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Welch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stacy Madon, David Taylor, Jason Couch, Cody Medley, Ted Madon, Graylon Wilson and Mike Price.
