Raymond Rowlett, 83 of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of West Liberty and Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Westminster Village North i9n Indianapolis.

He was born on March 1, 1929, at Page, a son of the late Dexter Marvin and Millie Brooks Rowlett. Raymond was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Morgan County ARH as the hospital administrator serving from 1972-1994.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Rowlett on August 23, 1996.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Brooks and Melody Rowlett of Indianapolis; grandson, Alan Rowlett of Richmond, Va.; sister, Juanita Potter of Middlesboro; sister-in-law, Bessie Davis of Romulus, Mich.; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Becky Cook, who took it upon herself to adopt him as a grandfather.

Funeral services were Monday at 10 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home with Bro. David Cook presiding. Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Potter Funeral Home.

Visitation in Pineville was Monday at 7 p.m. at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to the Morgan County Relief Fund of the ARH Foundation, for employees who lost homes and possessions in the March 2, 2012, Tornado, or the National Parkinson’s Foundation or First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 321, West Liberty, KY 41472.
