Bobby D. Metts Sr., 79 of Middlesboro, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at the Middlesboro ARH.
Born Nov. 2, 1932, in Frankfort, he was the son of the late Claude Dotson Metts and Lona T. Brumbach Metts. He was owner and operator of Metts Distributing Co. and Metts Ice for over 40 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Frankfor.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-Law.
Survivors include Cleo Metts of Middlesboro; three daughters, Phyllis (Howard) Allen of Middlesboro, Bobbie Jo Warren and Jackie Witt, both of Frankfort; one son, Bobby (Amy) Metts Jr. of Harrogate, Tenn.; two brothers, Roy Claude (Pat) Metts of Ocklawaha, Fla., and Billy Sandford (Brenda) Metts of Frankfort; two sisters, Imogene Redmond of Frankfort, and Betty Cline of Dundee, Fla.; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and special caregivers, all the staff of MARH, Dr. Epperson, Dr. Scott Stevens, and Dr. Susan Freeberg.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Creech Funeral Home with the Rev. Clinton Goodin and the Rev. Mark Hunter presiding. Music will be by Neville Ann and Brad Barton.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fuson Chapel Cemetery at Little Clear Creek. Pallbearers will be Justin Barton, Jared Barton, Seth Barton, Michael Schneider, Andrew Schneider, Tommy Barnett, Richard Barnett, Timmy Barnett and Larry Barnett.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Creech Funeral Home.
