Charles E. Worthington, age 78 of Knoxville, TN, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday January 2, 2013. Charles was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Bearden, where he served as a Deacon. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in the Korean Theater. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Grace Worthington and 2 Brothers: Earl and Herschel Worthington.

He is survived by the following members of his family: wife of 54 years: Joyce K. Jenkins Worthington; 2 sons: Jeffrey Worthington and Kevin Worthington and wife, Cheri; grandchildren: Christopher and Paige Worthington; sister and brother in law: Muriel and C.B. Grey; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 5 from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church in Bearden with Dr. Robert Kerr and Rev. Al Royer presiding.
