Steve and Sissy Cawood recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their daughters and families in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, followed by an anniversary trip to England and Scotland.

Steve and Sissy were married on June 11th, 1966 at Trinity Methodist Church in Middlesborough. Sissy is the daughter of the late Mayor Joe and Jeanette McCauley, formerly of Middlesborough, and Steve is the son of the late Murrell and Sophia Cawood of Pineville. Their wedding reception was held at the Middlesborough Country Club.

They are the parents of two daughters: Beth (Bill) Overman and Mandy (JD) Hickey, and blessed with five grandchildren: Charles William and Caroline Cawood Overman; and Henry Christopher, James Cawood and Andrew McCauley Hickey.

A highlight of their trip to the British Isles was a visit to Cawood, England, in Yorkshire where they toured the Gatehouse and grounds to the Cawood Castle and the 12th century All Saints Church where Cawood ancestors worshipped. While staying in Yorkshire, they were able to view the Cawood Viking Sword in the York Museum and the reference to the Cawood stained glass window in Yorkminster Cathedral.

Steve and Sissy reside in Pineville with their English Setter, Daisy.
