Since becoming part of the Covenant Health system in 2014, Claiborne Medical Center has updated equipment and renovated several patient areas. To celebrate these changes, the organization held an Open House on Nov. 18.
Several speakers spoke to those present about the upgrades, including CMC Advisory Board member Bill Dunavant and Claiborne County Healthcare Foundation chairman Stan Leonard. Hospital staff then gave tours of the facility, showcasing several areas including the Nuclear Medicine equipment that was installed in October.
Also highlighted was the renovated rehabilitation wing of the nursing home, where patients who need short-term rehabilitation after surgery or illness can recuperate in their community.
Claiborne CAO Patti Ketterman also announced that the nursing home would have a new name effective Jan. 1 — Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation.
“We feel that Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation better represents the core purpose of our nursing home, which is to provide care and rehabilitation to our residents, whether it is a short stay after a fall or longer term care,” Ketterman stated.
