Pineville won their home debut on Tuesday when the team hosted Thomas Walker, Virginia. The Mountain Lions easily handled the Pioneers en route to a 70-39 victory.
Pineville outscored Thomas Walker in three of the four quarters. Trent Lefevers paced the Mountain Lions on offense with 27 points while shooting 70.6 percent from the field. He scored 25 points in the first half. The senior was one rebound away from a double-double.
Tucker Woolum and Josh Lawson ended the night one basket shy of double figures. Woolum went 3-for-5 from the field for nine points, and Lawson finished the game 4-for-6 for eight points. Woolum shot 75 percent from the free-throw line.
Ben Goodin scored seven points while shooting 75 percent from the field. Will Adams, Chris Saylor and Goodin each finished the game with four rebounds.
Thomas Walker’s Taylor Williams hit three 3-pointers during the game en route to a team-high 13 points. Senior Jake Janeway ended the game with eight points.
Pineville (2-0) will travel to Red Bird (3-2) at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountain Lions defeated the Cardinals in all three meetings last year by an average of 31 points.
